Camera Shots Quiz

For my camera shots project, we needed to create a story using 15 shots and develop it using inanimate objects. Among the 15 shots, we needed to include 9 mandatory shots and 6 shots of our choice. First, my partner and I started with a plan. We wrote down every shot we needed, and once we had the story planned out, we wrote what each shot would develop. Once we had our plan, we decided to start shooting the 15 shots. We chose our objects, in this case, the pens, and while I held the objects, my partner took the shots. Once we made sure we had all the required shots and angles, we decided to put the pictures on a PowerPoint and give a title and a small description to each shot.

In my opinion, my partner and I developed a decent story within each shot while also trying to add life to lifeless objects. However, I wish we could’ve improved the quality of our shots and the story development in each one. The story could have been represented in a better manner, as it was confusing at some points and not steady. It was also hard for us to work quickly and finish shooting all our shots during class time, so I would like to be faster and more natural at coming up with a story that adheres to certain guidelines. I also think my partner and I could’ve improved the overall aesthetics of each shot, as sometimes our camera went out of focus and the story was not as clear to the viewers. Overall, for our first activity for the class, it was good, but in the future, as the class carries on, I hope to improve my story development skills and my savviness with film shots.
