My first CCR is a talk show so to create the typical late night talk show setting I had to move things around. I used my sister's room to set up the whole thing, I used this blue armchair that I had in my room and my sister’s desk and cleared everything on one side of the room. I placed them side by side, kind of looking at each other. Since I was going to be both the host and the guest, I would only need to include one of them in each shot.
Filming was a bit of a struggle since I was the only one there. I had to get up to start recording, sit back down, act, and then get up again to cut the camera. This took up a lot of my time and made filming very difficult. I also had to stop filming at one point because my natural light ran out as the sun set, meaning I had to continue the next day. Honestly, the most important thing was making sure my acting was engaging and appropriate for the talk show kind of like how you would see on TV but since I’m not actor, I tried my best.
My second CCR was much easier to film, for this video I created a diary entry video to go with Maddie’s reliance on her diary to express her feelings. Here I need to shoot various shots of me writing in a diary, voiceovers, and I need to get lots of multimedia of whatever I would discuss. Filming myself writing in the diary was tricky since I didn’t have a tripod that would help me film from above and whenever I tried to film myself with my left hand it would end up looking shaky. I ended up having my mom and my sister help with this part since I couldn’t do it alone.
